The name Antonio Deinde Fernandez is one that is respected and known in prominent Nigerian circles.
It is however not a name that is common all over the country. This is because its bearer prefers to be out of the public light.
But because he’s a billionaire several times over, he cannot escape being in the public light totally, so he keeps making the news, for his marital problems, business successes and so on. It is therefore not surprising that his daughter taking to music has become major news.
Her name is Abimbola, she was born in France in 1988, educated in UK and USA, lives in New York and her music career has been brought to the world’s notice by none other than a reputable international news medium, the New York Post.
According to the Post, Abimbola, whose stage name is Bim, aspires to be as musically successful as Rihanna, has signed a record deal with SMH Records and her debut single is Let’s Take It Naked.
While it is all well and good for Bim that her music dream is becoming a reality, her father, the reclusive Fernandez, is not totally pleased about it.
Even though he was the one who encouraged Bim to start playing music instruments when she was just four years old, he’s afraid now that she’s going to become a celebrity, someone might kidnap her and demand a ransom from him.
